MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

Rockford Ball Screw has an unique opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer. The right candidate will be responsible for evaluating existing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practice within the production process to improve function and efficiency. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Manage Production process optimization projects from inception through completion.
• Preform process and machine capability studies and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Mentor/Coach Process Technicians and Setup operators on best practices for CNC programs, tooling selection and improving tooling life/minimizing tooling costs.
• Recommend, test and justify tooling & fixtures to maximize machining process efficiencies.
• Create and modify plant layouts to optimize work flow and installation of new equipment.
• Assist with creating and updating process work instructions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and technical experience required.
• 3+ years in manufacturing with emphasis in Lean and Continuous Improvement preferred.
• Experience with assembly tools, fixtures, and design.
• Experience with CNC programming preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Experience with 2D CAD required, 3D CAD preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Self-starter with ability to plan, organize and implement multiple projects.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
