Maintenance Technician

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The purpose of this position is to support the manufacturing operations by performing regular maintenance on production equipment and perform other general maintenance work ensuring the machine shop and building are running at maximum efficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and electronic malfunctions to resolve breakdowns or make repairs
• Implement preventative maintenance measures, perform and manage the preventive maintenance schedule
• Prepare Requests for Expenditures and submit to management for approval as needed
• Create & audit start-up maintenance specifications for all facilities
• Conduct or oversee all modifications, installations, and rearrangement of both production and building equipment systems
• Obtain the appropriate work permits as required
• Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies
• Respond quickly to emergencies, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocols
• Develop maintenance reports and procedure manuals
• Utilize CribMaster to maintain a complete list of service requests & track maintenance costs
• Maintain a safe and clean work area
• Maintain quality standards
• Follow the safety rules
• Maintain building & surrounding grounds as needed, scheduling suppliers for jobs beyond capabilities or due to time constraints
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Education:

• High School and/or Trade School certification or equivalent training and experience required
• Must be able to calculate figures, percentages, area, circumference and volume is required
• Must be able to apply basic algebra and geometry is required

Experience:

• 3-5 years' experience with hydraulics & pneumatic and machine repair required
• Experience with pipefittings, welding, wiring (110V/480V, sheet metal fabrications, painting and carpentry work required
• Experience with CribMaster software module is a plus
