Master Production Scheduler

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The purpose of this position is to plan and master schedule material availability to support on-time delivery to the customer. Including production and facility loading, capacity planning, work order creation and release, and proper requisitioning of purchased product.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Translate sales orders into projected manufacturing orders via AVP
• Maintain weekly scheduled reviews of specific customer items via AVP
• Maintain monthly scheduled reviews of assigned commodities/item class to generate spreadsheet status, purchase requisitions, requests for quote, and manufacturing orders via AVP
• Coordinate and maintain supply base for specific commodity groups or assigned materials via AVP
• AVP planning parameters maintenance
• Performs daily computer record maintenance, P&IC and shop activity, resolving all issues
• Issues rework, RGA, scrap, and recuts when necessary
• Performing all planner functions for large screw stock and acme
• Assess, plan and requisition for commodity or materials in support of MRP requirements Includes but not limited to: blanket orders, stocking programs, vendor management inventory
• Maintain weekly and monthly scheduled reviews on all facility schedules for load and capacity.
• Plan production quantities and issue orders to the shop for execution
• Work closely with the quality department on quality issues
• Alert P&IC of potential expedites or defers in commodity & expense items
• Back up for all P&IC functions and duties

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Education:

• Associates Degree or equivalent technical experience required
• Professional Certification preferred

Experience:

• 5 years production planning and purchasing in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of PIC, MRP, master scheduling, manufacturing and procurement

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Working knowledge of MRP and master scheduling systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong computer skills
• Highly proficient in Excel
